Living Back At Home

Hello everyone. Sorry it's taken me so long to update. Things have been crazy! We are all moved in and settled w/my parents. We really appreciate them letting us stay with them. The boys are having a GREAT time living w/MoMo & Papa K. Dominic & Gino both LOVE helping w/the chores every afternoon. Dominic has learned how to shell the corn for the roosters & chickens and he feeds the mules their grain & corn too. Gino doesn't like to get to close to the mules, but he enjoys feeding the beagels their treats. Dominic is very excited about helping build a bridge between our property & my parent's so he can walk over whenever he wants.

Dominic wasn't sure about sleeping on my old loft bed at first, but really likes it now. The only problem with that room is that it is VERY pink! H
e has plenty of room for his train on the floor. He's so good at designing different tracks (Geo Trax). He get's an idea in his head how he wants it and makes it happen.

Dominic had been enjoyng time w/his kitten, Jet. She was sleeping w/him at night & he house trained her and played w/her all the time. Gino even would carry her around in a little basket that she really liked.....until the other night when she snuck out the door on accident & Copper got a hold of her. We had been doing our best at keeping him away from the kittens, but this is the second one he's gotten now...they are just too fast. We are ALL very sad. Breaking the news to your child that his favorite pet is gone is NOT something anyone warns you about when you become a parent....it should be in the "mystery" handbook. He handled it very well though. I think I was more attached than him! We still have one more kitten, Stripey, who we are bringing in now. She seems to be doing very well.

HAPPIER SUBJECT!.....we are in the beginning stages of building our house (an almost 1500 sq ft 3 bedroom ranch with a full walk-out basement). Andy was able to get all the gravel down this last weekend so it's ready to handle all the construction equipment that will soon be pulling in and out. We've run into a slight delay in getting our loan to close, but hopefully that is all straightened out now and things can get rolling soon. Here are a couple pictures. The one on the left is a picture of some of the (very looong) driveway & the second is just a shot of the property (facing 250). I will try to keep posting pictures at each stage of the process to keep you updated.

Gino has been saying new words everyday! Here are just a few: Bubble, Ball, Yeah, No (his favorite), Mow, Cheese, Boo, Moo......and he says "hi" to everyone. He calls Dominic "D". It's the simplist thing we could think of for him to say. He also calls my dad Pop Pop or Poppy. This poor kid is so very accident prone. He gets more bumps & bruises than any kid should! I need to wrap him in bubble wrap! His latest trick is jumping. He likes to jump in and out of a hula hoop on the ground. He's very proud of himself. He loves to dance too.
He is FINALLY sleeping through the night (most nights). It helps because my mom can go in and I don't always have to. He does better if someone else lays him down when he wakes up. It's been nice getting a little extra sleep! Good thing we are not moving far so she can come through the woods at 3 am when he wakes up later!
